Cookie Policy

Last updated: 1 November 2026

1. The tools work without any cookies

You can use every tool on this site with advertising and analytics switched off. Cookie consent is not a paywall or a gate — file processing happens entirely in your browser and depends on nothing we track.

2. Strictly necessary storage

These are stored in your browser's local storage rather than as cookies, and are not shared with anyone.

KeyPurposeDuration
compressinkb.consent.v1Records the choices you made in the consent banner, with a timestamp, so we can honour them and prove what was agreed.Until you clear it
compressinkb.themeRemembers whether you chose light or dark mode, so the page does not flash white when you return.Until you clear it
compressinkb.admin.*Only if you use the hidden admin panel: your own site configuration (tool settings, exam specifications, SEO metadata). Stored locally, never transmitted.Until you clear it

3. Optional: advertising cookies (Google AdSense)

If you consent to advertising, Google and its partners may set cookies to serve ads, including personalised ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Advertising scripts are not loaded at all until you give that consent and the site operator has enabled ads; until then, no ad is requested from Google.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. Users may opt out of the use of advertising cookies for interest-based advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.

4. Optional: analytics

Optional analytics are not configured in the current build. If enabled in the future, they may be used for aggregate page views after any required consent. File names, file contents and calculator inputs are not sent as analytics data. Hosting providers may still process ordinary connection data for delivery and security.

5. Your rights in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

Under the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive you must be asked for consent before non-essential cookies are set, and that consent must be as easy to refuse as to give. Our banner is designed that way: “Reject all” is equally prominent, and granular controls are one click away. Ads are not currently enabled. Before serving personalised ads in these regions, we will configure the required Google-certified consent management platform and review how it works with these choices.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clearing the site data for this domain in your browser settings and reloading the page — the banner will appear again and you can choose differently. You can also change them here at any time; this Cookie Policy is linked in the footer of every page.

6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as an opt-out of advertising and analytics and do not load those scripts, regardless of the banner state.

7. Other ways to control cookies

Every mainstream browser lets you block or delete cookies for specific sites, and privacy extensions can do the same. Blocking all cookies does not break any tool on this site — the only effects are that your theme choice and consent record will not persist between visits.
